WELRKJAEWELRKJW WHAT THE HELL??!!!
WORST ENDING EVER!!
I waited for 6 months for THAT?!

Freaking MAIKO?? And it was such a kiddy ending. Oooh, let's wind up all the ending all shiny and sparkly and not kill anyone and just go for the really simple ending because OH NO cartoons are for kids and we couldn't possibly get into any complex story lines like developing a relationship that actually makes sense instead of some arbitary childish crap.

Boo to Mai and Zuko
Boo to Firelord Ozai staying alive
BOO TO AANG AND KATARA

The only good thing about the ending is that I was so unhappy with it, I've decided not to fork out $300 buying all the boxsets. I only hope the movie gets a higher than PG rating so they can actually make a DECENT ending.

Zutara forever!

Nuuu! My precious last ever real holidays are drawing to a close. Yes, I'm starting my final semester at uni and then... the real world O.o

So, I thought I'd list all the things I managed to accomplish over the past 6 weeks, just to make me feel like I actually did stuff over the holidays lol.

1. Get new tyres for my car
2. Break my car
3. Clean my room
4. Earn muchly the moolah to get through the next 6 months
5. Get an awesome new flatmate who is also one of my awesome good friends
6. Finish writing stuff for ~Kayje
7. Redraw all characters for manga
8. Draw commisions for ~Kayje (well, half done)
9. Get obsessed over Soul Eater and draw the fanart. (coming soon!)
10. Fill up sketch book with enough stuff to colour over the first few weeks of uni.
11. Set up the stereo! Finally!
12. Finish The World Ends With You
13. Saw Phantom of the Opera with Anthony Warlow as the Phantom!!
14. Get my art shown in a real live exhibition.
15. Get obsessed with Avatar all over again!

Well, it's a lot less than I would have liked to do, but :shrugs: Ah well.

Oh, also I'm going to plug this awesome website that does remixes of video game music. It's called OverClocked ReMix, and is awesome. [link] My favourite is 'Mamacitas in My Valley' Check it out.

Someone I once knew

My lovely boss who went back to melbourne has been visiting the past few days. He's only been gone about 6 weeks but it feels like ages.

I went into work on his first day back to see him (on my day off even!) and he gave me this huge bear hug. It was the weirdest feeling because even though we've all been missing him like crazy and so many things have changed, at that moment it felt like he'd never left.

Which got me thinking...

How many weeks, months, years of not seeing someone does it take for them to go from being a friend to being someone you used to know? I have a friend in Melbourne (shout out to ~Kayje!) and even though I don't see her for years at a time, and completely lost contact with her for over a year, it still feels the same when we get back together. And then on the other hand, I had a close friend at school and I haven't seen her for about 2 years. When I do pass her at the shops or whatever, it's more of a nod and smile, go on your way kind of exchange. We didn't part on bad terms, we just kind of lost touch, and yet she'd become one of those "people I used to know".

Do all friends have the possibility to become merely aquaintances through the passage of time, or are there some people who you will always be able to pick up where you left off with, no matter how many years pass?

Also, I think I'm coming down with a cold. Drats.

I broke my car T.T

So I was driving to my dad's place to have dinner, which I do every Wednesday night and stopped at the traffic lights near the Yarralumla turnoff (for those of you who live in Canberra and know where that is) and went to put my car in first gear.

...and then, there were no gears at all.

The gear box went all floppy. I freaked out and tried turning it off to see if that would fix it. It was about this point I realised I'd left my phone at home too, so I had noway of contacting anyone for help if I couldn't get my car to start again.

Luckily enough, it did, and even though the gear box was still stuffed I managed to limp it over to my dad's place at about 60kph and was about to park it in his driveway, then realised I had no reverse gear so I had to leave it in the street.

Long story short, Dad thinks the gear linkage is broken and he had to drive me home because I can't get it to my normal mechanic until the morning.

And of course this would happen when my Mum, fiancee and flatmate are all out of the city. *sigh* I miss my car already.

Random Art Chatter

For some reason I'm always compelled to update my journal once a week. I think I just get bored of seeing the old one on my page lol.

So I'm on holidays at the moment, and drawing HEAPS because I've got a few days off work. Which of course means I'm somehow redeveloping my drawing style YET AGAIN. For some reason I have trouble settling on one style.

Does anyone else have this problem??

Everytime I get into a new manga I pick up little things from it. I'm really into Kitchen Princess at the moment (because Nosatsu Junkie got delayed by Tokyopop :cries:), which has made me look at how I draw eyes and try to put more expressiveness in it.

It only happens with manga, not anime. And since I've pretty much stopped watching anime at the moment (only watching Japanese dramas), I've been reading stacks of manga and my drawing style's all over the place.

So if there's bits you like or don't like in the pieces I submit over the next few weeks I'd really appreciate feedback.

がんばれ、私!

Oh, and apparently in true me fashion, I've once again forgotten my <insert year here> anniversary on DA. 3 years and still vague!

Yeah, it's about as thin as paper money, just made of plastic. The $5 note is a little bit smaller than the rest, but they're all about the size of American money

its not hard plastic money *MokubaLover Its soft polymer. Just like paper, but it doesn't turn to much in the wash.
